City Hall - Room N. Holliday St, Baltimore, MD City Operator: () Historic Districts. Historic districts are combinations of buildings, structures, sites, objects, landscapes, and structured environments where the overall grouping, the ensemble, takes on an identity and significance apart from its individual components. The most common type of historic district in Georgia is the residential neighborhood.

Preservation Districts. Officially designated Preservation Districts are also called S-7 and S Zones. They are areas or neighborhoods that are recognized for the same values as individual Landmarks, and they are nominated and designated in the same way, usually with active neighborhood participation. “Historic resource” and “cultural resource” mean, for the purposes of environmental reviews related to CEQA and the County’s compliance with CEQA, those landmarks, contributing resources and historic preservation districts listed in the Alameda County Register. “Historic resource” and “cultural resource”.

Preservation of the historical monuments is very beneficial. Historic buildings help create vibrant, cultural downtowns that engender tourism, art, festivals, and other activities which in turn draw investment, revenue, and economic growth. A dynamic historic downtown can be the hub of economic activities: a place to shop, invest, create and live. Preserving historic buildings is a main principle of GSA's mission. Learn how the patronage of the federal government has influenced architecture. Celebrate American Architecture. GSA and other federal agencies promote awareness, appreciation and knowledge of historic buildings using videos, photographs, and posters and brochures.
